Lihiniya Gems

An Interactive Guide to Your Purchase

Our Quality Promise

This section outlines the core guarantee that comes with every piece of jewellery from Lihiniya Gems. It’s our commitment to authenticity and quality, ensuring you receive exactly what is described on your official documentation.

What We Guarantee

We guarantee that the main gemstone, any accompanying gemstones, and the metal (Sterling Silver, Gold, or Platinum) are accurately described on the official receipt and/or certificate provided at the time of purchase.

Exclusions

Our guarantee does not cover issues arising from everyday life or external factors. This includes:

  • General wear and tear
  • Accidental damage or misuse
  • Damage from dropping or rough use (swimming, etc.)
  • Natural disasters
  • Any repairs performed by a third party will VOID the guarantee.

Your Role in Jewellery Care

Proper care is essential to keeping your jewellery beautiful for a lifetime. This section explains your responsibility in maintaining your piece and our recommendation for a simple, effective care cycle.

The Jewellery Care Cycle

💎

1. Purchase & Enjoy

Wear your beautiful piece.

🔧

2. Regular Check-ups

Every 6 months, visit a reputable jeweller.

3. Maintain & Secure

Check settings to prevent loss.

This simple, proactive cycle helps maintain your jewellery’s condition and minimizes the risk of damage or loss. You are solely responsible for this reasonable care.

Repair & Maintenance Services

Should your jewellery need a little attention, here’s how our repair and maintenance services work. We offer complimentary services for pieces purchased from us and provide expert care for other items as well.

For Lihiniya Gems Jewellery

Free of Charge

Maintenance and alterations are complimentary. If a main stone comes off its setting, we will happily reset it for free. Please note, this service requires you to bring the original stone to us; **we do not replace lost main stones**.

Customer Responsibility: To have a stone reset, you must bring the damaged item, the original loose stone, the receipt, and any certificates to our store.

For Other Jewellery

We will lab-test the metal and have a gemmologist inspect the gems before any work begins.

If any materials need to be replaced, we will provide you with a quote for the cost before proceeding.

General Repair Conditions

All items must be handed over **in person** at our store unless we advise otherwise. If you post an item, you are responsible for any loss, damage, customs, or tax charges.

Understanding Gemstone Certification

Certification provides an expert, independent assessment of your gemstone. This section explains the types of certificates we provide and includes an important note on how gemmological opinions can sometimes vary.

Primary Certification

Most of our significant Sapphires and precious gems carry certificates from independent, internationally qualified (GIA, FGA) gemmologists or the NGJA (the Sri Lankan government authority).

Invoice as Certificate

For smaller gems (up to 0.50cts), semi-precious stones, and silver jewellery, your **official invoice/receipt** serves as the certificate of authenticity.

An Important Note on Opinions

Gemmology is a science, but final colour grading can be subjective. One expert might certify a stone as a “Padparadscha Sapphire,” while another might call it a “Pink Sapphire.” In all cases, what is guaranteed is that the gemstone is **genuine, natural, and not man-made**, and any treatments are disclosed.

About Our Gemstones

Transparency is key to our philosophy. This section explains our commitment to selling natural, earth-mined gemstones and clarifies the standard, accepted industry treatments you will find in our collection versus those we refuse to sell.

Our Sourcing Promise

  • ✓ Natural & Earth-Mined: We guarantee our gemstones are natural minerals, not man-made, unless explicitly stated.
  • ✓ Standard Heat Treatment: We sell sapphires with traditional heat enhancement, a stable and permanent treatment accepted for centuries. This is considered “Natural”.
  • ✗ No Unethical Treatments: We DO NOT sell gems with treatments like diffusion, glass-filling, or irradiation (except for Blue Topaz, which is standard), as they are almost valueless.

Pricing, Payment & Legal

This final section covers our policies on pricing and payment, and the legal agreement you enter into when making a purchase. Clarity on these points ensures a smooth and transparent transaction for everyone.

Prices & Quotations

  • Prices are displayed as accurately as possible but we reserve the right to correct errors.
  • Website prices may differ from in-store prices. Please inquire.
  • Quotations for custom work are valid for **30 days**.
  • We do not offer a price-matching service as our pieces are unique.

Payment

We require **FULL payment** before any item is handed over or shipped. This includes settling any bank transfer fees on your end. We do not accept partial payments.

Accepting The Terms

By ordering or purchasing from us, you enter into a legal contract with Lihiniya Gems under the law of Sri Lanka. You acknowledge that you have read and **AGREED** to all the terms and conditions outlined in this guide.
